Toy Soldier and BA Done!!!

Tomorrow morning me, Bradimus Prime (of the Space Wolves Grey Blog) and Neil will be heading to the Toy Soldier tournament in Preston. The tournament will be 1750 points and will be 5 games fought over 2 days. Hopefully my performance will end up placing me slightly higher on the table than 2nd or 3rd to last (which would be a nice change!) but as I've yet to win a 1 on 1 game with my BA I'm just going to have to see.

As per usual I've left things until the 11th hour and have only just got my army finished tonight (although that said both Brad and Neil are in the same position!) but I am pretty damn pleased that I've got the army finished.

  2. Hello! I found your blog while following a link from BoLS. I was excited to see your BA army picture because I'm doing something very similar myself. How did your army build perform? Also, any painting advice you have would be great!

    Cheers,

  3. Hi James,

Apologies for the delayed response, thanks for the comments - whilst "I" did poorly at the tournament I feel that the Army has allot of potential I'd not had as much practice with it as I'd have liked and I made several mistakes that cost me badly.

I'm not the greatest painter in the world and I find that the GW Washes hide a multitude of sins! I'm hoping to get a few posts up soon detailing the way I went with the painting but the one key piece of advice I can pass on is when it comes to painting gold (such as with the Sanguinary Guard) I have found that a base coat of Mithril Silver and then 2-3 coats of Gryphone Sepia wash produces a pretty stunning finish. Hope that helps.
